Fresh Bowl, which launched last year in New York City, plans to launch 50 of its vending machines by the end of 2020, and 100 by summer 2021, Fast Company reports. The company sells on-the-go meals, like salads and breakfast oats, via these vending machines in returnable, reusable glass jars, in an effort to be environmentally friendly. About 85 percent of jars are returned, which is a rate higher than the co-founders anticipated, the article states. Customers receive a discount if they return the jars.
