As companies continue to navigate return-to-office strategies, food offerings have emerged as a key tool for attracting and retaining talent. In response to this shift, Sodexo has inked an agreement with Hungry, a food technology platform that pairs businesses with top chefs and local restaurants in 19 major cities. Sodexo aims to meet the evolving expectations for workplace dining more effectively.
Brent Bloomberg, Sodexo North America’s chief strategy and development officer, said the partnership combines Sodexo’s on-site dining expertise with Hungry’s chef-driven and digitally-enabled platform. “We’re creating a flexible solution that can adapt to a wide range of environments — from corporate offices to university campuses — while meeting the growing demand for local and diverse food options,” Bloomberg noted in a release.
David Bailey, CEO of Sodexo’s U.S. Corporate Services, emphasized how workplace dining expectations have changed. “Today’s employees want easy access to the food they love, even when they’re at work,” Bailey said in a release. “By integrating Hungry into our offerings, we’re expanding the variety and quality of experiences we can offer our clients and their teams.”
The partnership gives Sodexo immediate access to Hungry’s network of more than 1,500 food partners. Rollout will begin with client accounts that align well with the initiative’s goals.
Hungry CEO Jeff Grass described the partnership as a strategic step forward. “This collaboration helps us extend our mission to deliver happiness and wellbeing through food, now with the added scale and operational support that Sodexo brings,” Grass said in a release. “We see this as the beginning of a strong, long-term alliance.”
