FDA To Lead Education Session At NAMA Fly-In

June 30, 2016

(Chicago) June 29, 2016 --- NAMA announced today that representatives from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) will host an education session on Calorie Disclosure compliance at the NAMA Fly-In on July 12.

The session will cover vending machine compliance with the final rule on Calorie Disclosure, taking effect in December of this year. FDA speakers will focus primarily on reviewing the rule’s definitions and requirements for compliance, as well as providing brief background on the rule. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss issues related to compliance in an effort to proactively work together to meet the December 1, 2016 deadline.

“We’d like to thank the FDA for leading this very valuable session for our Fly-In participants,” said Eric Dell, NAMA SVP of Government Affairs.  “This is an exclusive opportunity for attendees to interact face-to-face with FDA officials and have their questions on Calorie Disclosure answered firsthand by the experts,” he concluded.

With more than 260 registered attendees representing 42 states, the Fly-In is NAMA’s largest Capitol Hill advocacy event.  Learn more and register at http://www.namaflyin.org.
