Cryptocurrency cash exchange rolls out 300 bitcoin-enabled Coinstar kiosks in Florida

A cryptocurrency cash exchange is entering the Florida market with more than 300 bitcoin-enabled Coinstar kiosks located at select Winn-Dixie, Fresco y Mas, Harveys and other grocery outlets in the Sunshine State.

Coinme said it is working with state regulators to place the Coinstar kiosks. It has secured a license to offer a cash onramp to purchasing bitcoin to the residents of Florida.

“Through our partnership, we’re able to continue to expand into new areas to meet the ever-growing demand of accessible avenues to purchasing digital currencies," said Coinme founder and chief executive Neil Bergquist.

The companies said purchasing bitcoin at Coinstar kiosks through Coinme "safely" turns cash into bitcoin instantly. Bitcoin purchases are immediately available in the Coinme Wallet without the need to input separate wallet information that can be up to 35 characters long.

Coinme says it operates the largest cash-to-crypto exchange in the U.S., with nearly 6,000 Coinme-enabled Coinstar kiosks in supermarkets is 45 states. Coinstar operates more than 22,000 coin-counting kiosks.
