The Associated Press reports that U.S. colleges are supplying students with free PPE through vending machines. At Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, vending machines located around campus offer masks, hand sanitizer and other protective products to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The supplies are free for students and university employees, although users can only make one purchase per product each month. These gratis "purchases" are tracked through the university's VCUCard, which the vending machines accept.
The school works with industrial supply company W.W Grainger Inc., which manages vending machines that were already placed on campus, to place more machines dedicated to dispensing PPE.
