U.N. Says Global Food Prices On The Rise

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization reported that global prices for meats, dairy products and cereals resumed rising last month, according to the New York Times. Prices rose 1.4 percent on average in September, after remaining steady in July and August. The report said that heat and drought in the U.S., Russia and Europe constricted agricultural production and pushed up prices of corn and soybeans to record highs, with the largest increase being 7 percent for dairy products.
