Two Public Advocacy Groups Sue U.S. Government For Failing To Implement New Food Safety Laws

The Center for Food Safety and the Center for Environmental Health, both non-profit public interest groups, are suing the U.S. government for failing to follow-through on the Food Safety Modernization Act, according to Reuters. The Food Safety Modernization Act was signed into law in 2011 and overhauled a number food safety laws. Advocates claim the government hasn't properly implemented and enforced the provisions of the new law leaving consumers open to the threat of food-borne illnesses. For the full story click here.
