Convenience services sector delivers a $40B U.S. economic footprint
NAMA’s latest economic analysis puts hard numbers behind the reach of the U.S. convenience services industry, estimating its total annual economic impact at just over $40 billion, with more than 165,000 jobs supported nationwide.
The report, commissioned by the Foundation of the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) and produced by John Dunham & Associates, offers a detailed, state-by-state breakdown of the industry’s contributions in terms of output, employment, wages, and tax revenue.
Convenience services operators providing vending, micro markets, office coffee and pantry programs have a presence in every congressional district, cutting across workplace, education, healthcare and transit settings. While it includes national players, the landscape is also defined by thousands of small and family-owned businesses operating locally.
What they are saying
“This report confirms what NAMA members already know and understand — convenience services is an industry that empowers local economies, meets consumer needs, and creates meaningful jobs in every state,” said Carla Balakgie, president and CEO of NAMA, in a release. “That impact goes beyond economic numbers. It’s reflected in every nourishing, refreshing, accessible, and convenient experience delivered to consumers each day.”
