Sara Lee is expanding its Sweet Moments single-serve dessert line with six individual cakes and cheesecakes. Consumer demand for smaller portions and more frequent dessert occasions is driving the Sara Lee Frozen Bakery expansion, according to the company.

The Sweet Moments cheesecakes come in three flavors: Strawberry Shortcake, Lemon Blueberry and Fudgey Brownie. Each combines cheesecake with sauces, toppings and graham or shortcake-inspired crusts.

Sara Lee is also adding three individual cakes to the Sweet Moments line: Gooey Butter Cake, Chocolate Chip Brookie and Cinnamon Caramel Crunch. The cakes can be heated in 20 to 30 sec.

The additions follow the launch of Sweet Moments Cobbler Cups last fall in Berry Bliss Crumble, Salted Caramel Peach and Orchard Apple Cinnamon.

According to Sara Lee Frozen Bakery, the Cobbler Cups account for more than one-third of the company’s fruit pie business and are among its highest dollar-velocity frozen dessert products.

For convenience and refreshment services operators, the expansion adds individually portioned branded desserts that may fit grab-and-go, workplace foodservice and other unattended retail environments.
