Planters brings back its Special Reserve peanuts

Just in time for National Nut Day, Planters launched the second season offering of its special reserve peanuts in 13-oz aluminum containers.

The LTO snacking option features peanuts that are “notably larger than standard varieties and retain their natural red skin,” the company said while announcing the Special Reserve product return.

“Planters Special Reserve has been years in the making,” said Kate Coombs, brand manager for the Planters brand, in a release. “From the growing conditions to the roasting process, every detail was curated with our fans in mind.”

In convenience locations, having a premium or limited-edition SKU can drive traffic, impulse buys and differentiate your snack shelf. At the same time, given its size and premium pricing, evaluate locations carefully to avoid stale or unused stock.
