Nestlé Professional brings Sofía Vergara’s empanadas to foodservice
Nestlé Professional Solutions has teamed with actress Sofía Vergara and her son, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, to launch Toma empanadas, a line of Latin-inspired grab-and-go foods designed for foodservice.
The launch comes at a time when foodservice operators —like convenience service operators —seek products to meet demand for globally inspired grab-and-go foods.
The line debuted at the National Restaurant Show with two varieties: beef empanadas, made with tomatoes, kalamata olives, onions, paprika and chilis, and chicken empanadas with salsa verde. The empanadas ship frozen and can be cooked from frozen or thawed in convection ovens, fryers or TurboChef equipment.
