April 13, 2020

The FDA has provided best practices for operation of food retail service during the COVID-19 pandemic to help employees and consumers stay safe, it announced April 9. They include recommendations on pre-screening workers before they start the workday, employees' personal hygiene, cleaning surfaces and food delivery precautions.

The federal agency stated it will update its list as it receives additional information and advised companies to also review recommendations from other agencies, including the CDC, EPA, and OSHA. Other FDA resources on food safety during this time are available here.
