Jan. 16, 2019

Restaurants had a good year. According to Nation's Restaurant News, the same-store sales growth was 2 percent for December 2018, the highest it's been since August 2015. December was also the seventh consecutive month of positive growth for the industry. NRN cites research from TDn2K’s Black Box Intelligence data, which suggests that while guest counts are still down, sales are increasing. The average amount of a guest's check grew by 3.1 percent year over year in the final quarter of 2018, says the source.
