The Rainforest Alliance And UTZ To Merge For New, Stronger Organization

The Rainforest Alliance and UTZ, two national sustainability certification organizations, have announced their intention to merge in late 2017. The new organization will be called Rainforest Alliance and according to the announcement, "tackle environmental and social issues around the world, including climate change, deforestation, poverty, and unsustainable farming." 

There will be a single, global certification standard to simplify certification for farmers and help companies keep up with demand for certified products.
