In 2015, the obesity rate among U.S. adults reached a new high of 28 percent, up from 25.5 percent in 2008, a new survey from Gallup reports. In addition, 35.8 percent of adults are classified as overweight. The survey found that across racial and ethnic groups, whites show the sharpest increase in obesity and diabetes rates.
