CHICAGO – November 25, 2015 – NAMA announced today that 18 participants successfully completed its Supervisor Development Program (SDP) last week at its new partner school, the University of Houston. SDP has been part of NAMA’s core educational offerings since its inception in 2006.
“NAMA is proud to congratulate our 2015 SDP graduates on this achievement, and wish them well as they return to their teams with new skills and continue to develop and define their leadership styles,” said Dan Mathews, NAMA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
“We had a wonderful experience working with our new partner school, the University of Houston’s nationally ranked Conrad Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. Led by renowned faculty, including Hilton’s Dean, Dr. Dennis Reynolds, this year’s curriculum aimed to prepare supervisors for the challenges they face in leading a team and managing customer relationships, focusing on topics like personal leadership development, stress and time management, decision making and managing difficult conversations,” he continued.
“As always, our goal is help our members enhance and elevate their skills and experience so they can take their career to the next level,” Mathews concluded.
In a testimonial, 2015 SDP graduate Eddie Alfaro, of Accent Food Services, said of his experience, “SDP was an excellent program and I would highly recommend this training for any supervisor in our industry. The instructors were very engaging and I really enjoyed the peer-to-peer interaction during group discussions. I can't wait to take what I learned and put it into action!”
