Wittern’s Heidi Chico Announces Plans To Enter Industrial Vending With A $17.75 Million Expansion

Oct. 9, 2015

Vending machine manufacturing company The Wittern Group, based in Clive, IA, is looking to expand into new areas of vending technology, the Des Moines Register reports.

CEO and co-owner Heidi Chico talked about the company’s reinvestment plan. The Wittern Group is planning a $17.75 million expansion that includes bringing “controlled dispensing solutions” to industries like healthcare and maintenance and repair.

The expansion would include the hiring of three new engineers.

Chico told the source she has seen a demand from companies looking to manage inventory and control costs, and she believes that vending can be a solution.

The company is seeking tax credits from the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s High Quality Jobs Program, which will consider The Wittern Group’s application later this month.

It will take three years to complete the expansion.
