Taylorsville - On September 25, 2015 at 10:35 pm, Unified Police Department (UPD) arrested Jimmy Jack Olsen, the suspect wanted for the vandalism and theft of vending machines throughout Utah and surrounding states, the department announced.
A UPD Sergeant observed a vehicle that appeared to be disabled. As the Sergeant approached the two individuals walking away from the vehicle, he recognized the male as Olsen. The other individual was Olsen’s wife. The two individuals were taken into custody. After being interviewed, Olsen was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on his arrest warrant. Olsen’s wife was interviewed and released.
Any information related to the specifics of the vending machine thefts will be referred to the Utah Attorney General’s Office as they are handling the prosecution of these thefts.
National Entertainment Network, the owner of the affected machines, reported losses of more than $33,000, including the cost of repairing the machines.
