New England Vending Associations Honor Harold W. Young’s Melissa Johnson With Harry Wishart Award

June 14, 2011

Melissa Johnson, a sales rep with Harold W. Young, a Natick, Mass.-based vending product brokerage, recently received the Harry Wishart award at the recent New England Vending Associations meeting in Portsmouth, N.H. The award has been presented every year since 2000 for an individual who demonstrates leadership.

Johnson was selected by last year’s award winner, Eric Mueller, owner of United Snack Group in Wallingford, Conn. The award is selected each year by the previous year’s recipient.

Mueller told VendingMarketWatch that it is unusual for a supplier to win the award, but after reviewing nominees, he decided Johnson deserved to be this year’s winner. He said Johnson was highly involved in legislative affairs on behalf of New England vending operators.

The Harry Wishart award was started by the Pine Tree Vending Association in Maine, but is now sponsored by the New England associations, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut and Maine.
