New York Vending Association Calls On Operators, Lawmakers To Support Increasing Sales Tax Exemption For Vend Products

June 7, 2011

The New York State Automatic Vending Association (NYSAVA) has asked vending operators to send a letter to their state representatives to support a bill to amend the tax law. The amendment would increase the exemption for food and beverages sold through vending machines from 75 cents to $1.50, effective, Jan. 1, 2012.

The association has sent out a draft letters for vending operators to send to their legislators. The letter is addressed to Assemblyman Herman Farrell, Jr., chairman of the Ways and Means Committee.

The association offers helpful Websites for finding legislators and their contact information: for a list of senators and contact info, plus a search for your own senators for assembly members and a way to search for your reps.
