Trend: Fifty-Four Percent Of Consumers Prefer Spicy Flavors

Consumers have recently been drawn to new flavors, according to Technomic’s “Flavor Consumer Trend Report.” The demand for spicy flavors rose from 48 percent in 2011 to 54 percent in 2013. The report showed that 67 percent of consumers over the age of 18 believed “savory” flavors were appealing, compared to 51 percent who believed “sweet” was an appealing flavor.
