Editor’s Insight: The scientific debate about the performance enhancement capabilities of sports drinks has received a fair amount of media exposure due to the Olympics. It is highly unlikely that this debate will impact consumer demand for sports drinks. People who drink sports drinks do so because they like the taste and find the experience refreshing.
