NCA Poll Gives Insight on Coffee Consumption Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic

Oct. 19, 2020

A poll recently conducted by the National Coffee Association (NCA) reveals that the COVID-19 pandemic has not changed how much coffee Americans are drinking. While Americans have been drinking more coffee at home throughout pandemic, coffee consumed away from home has declined by nearly 20%. Overall, Americans still drink an average of three cups per day, and six in 10 Americans drink coffee every day.

NCA President and CEO Bill Murray commented:

“Despite the COVID-19 pandemic’s profound disruptions on our lives, coffee continues to be America’s favorite beverage. New routines mean Americans are drinking more of their coffee at home than ever, but many are also returning to coffee shops around the country or plan to do so soon.”
