Starbucks Announces A Price Hike

July 6, 2016

Starbucks announced it will be increasing prices on select beverages starting next week, July 12. The price hike was revealed after the price adjustment was prematurely entered into the point of sale systems in the company’s U.S. stores, Starbucks said in a statement. As a result, some customers were charged incorrectly. The maximum any customer could have been overcharged is 30 cents per beverage.

It remains unseen how much prices will increase and the reason behind the price hike.

Editor’s note: Today’s consumer will pay for convenience and for their favorite foods/beverages; but when does the price become too high? It will be interesting to see if this price hike negatively affects Starbucks over the course of the next year. My guess is no.
