David Henchel, president/CEO of Corporate Coffee Systems in Westbury, N.Y., was recently named NAMA’s Coffee Service Operator of the Year as part of the association’s 2014 Industry Awards. Henchel will be presented with his award at the 2014 NAMA OneShow in Chicago, Ill. April 9 to 11.
The NAMA Coffee Service Operator of the Year award recognizes an individual and their company who has exhibited the highest level of integrity, dedication and leadership in the coffee service industry. The recipient of this award must excel in all areas of business and show leadership within the community.
Henchel is the founder of Corporate Coffee Systems LLC, an office refreshment operator providing office coffee service, bottled water, specialty coffee and office supplies to the New York City metro area. He has served in the industry for over three decades and has received several awards, including:
- The Eastern Coffee Service Association’s Operator of the Year
- The National Coffee Service Association’s Java Award for marketing excellence
- Induction into National Beverage & Products Association’s Hall of Fame
Corporate Coffee Systems (CCS) has been a leader in the evolutionary changes of the OCS industry and is a pioneer in thermal server brewing, specialty coffee and single cup brewing. CCS was an early adopter of single-serve brewing technology and has been successful growing the business both organically and through strategic acquisitions.
Henchel is very active in his community and has served as a board member of the local little league and currently sits on a New York Rising Community Reconstruction Committee, tasked with petitioning New York State for funding for infrastructure projects to solve flooding problems caused by Hurricane Sandy.
