Washington DC, February 27th 2020 - Google Maps Platform, a division of Google Maps, recently highlighted their partnership with Vagabond, a leading technology provider working to modernize the convenience services space, with a blog post on the Google Cloud page and a tweet linking to the post. The Google team commissioned a video to showcase how Vagabond’s technology solutions apply the Google Maps Platform technology tools to the Vagabond VMS and vīv consumer engagement platform applications. The video takes the viewer through a day in the life of a vending service representative as he maps his route, prekits, drives and then services a vending machine using Vagabond’s VMS solution. Consumer experiences using vīv at a vending machine and at a vīv Fixturelite Market are also shown. Various members of the Vagabond team are highlighted as they explain how Google’s technologies enable the underlying processes of what the viewer sees in the video.

Vagabond’s CEO, Michael Lovett, remarked, “As we worked on our solutions aimed at closing the technology gap in our industry, we wanted those tools to be extremely simple for operators to use with a user interface they already know and use in their personal lives. For us, we knew that Google Maps has the most accurate, rich location data to surface through our platform and would be recognized by everyone we work with. Integrating the Google Maps technology into our vīv consumer engagement platform has also allowed us to provide very low cost unattended retail solutions so that we can provide solutions like micro markets, order ahead and delivery services in smaller accounts mainly ignored until now.”

The Vagabond team is proud to have been chosen by the Google Maps Platform team to demonstrate real world applications of their technologies. Vagabond CMO, Juan Jorquera, stated, “Working with the Google Maps Platform team has been a very positive experience from the very beginning. To show off the results of a five year partnership in video format is unparalleled and better yet, we were able to highlight the hard work our team has put in from day one while also shining a positive light on our industry that is largely ignored or unknown by the average person. We can’t wait to continue to build on our partnership with the Google Maps Platform team and keep pushing the envelope in the convenience services industry.”

The Google Maps Platform and Vagabond video can be found on this blog post on the Google Cloud page.
