Bimbo Bakeries kicks off registration for global charity run for hunger relief
Grupo Bimbo — producer of popular convenience snack items such as Barcel USA’s Takis and Bimbo Bakeries USA's Entenmann’s Minis and Little Bites — will host a global cause-driven race in September. The company will donate 20 slices of bread to each in-person racer, as well as two slices of bread to each virtual participant, with a goal of donating 3 million slices of bread to food banks globally.
The live event will be held September 28 in Los Angeles, as well as other major cities around the globe. Virtual registrants can participate by completing a 5 or 10K walk or run between September 22 and 28.
What they are saying
“We are very excited to celebrate 10 years of this incredible event. The Bimbo Global Race has become a source of inspiration for more and more people — regardless of age or whether they are professional runners — to join in and do their part to nourish a better world. Beyond the joy of the race experience, your participation helps provide bread to those who need it most. That’s what truly makes this event special. We want to continue supporting this great cause and creating memorable moments for all runners,” said Alberto Levy, Grupo Bimbo’s global marketing vice president, in a release.
