Nestlé’s food portfolio under scrutiny: newspaper

June 1, 2021

Following an article in the Financial Times that revealed an internal document from Nestlé describing a majority of its food and drinks as “unhealthy,” the food giant said it was working on updating its nutrition and health strategy, according to reports.

The newspaper said it had examined an internal presentation distributed to Nestlé executives early this year affirming that more than 60% of the company’s mainstream food and drinks portfolio could not be considered healthy under a "recognised definition of health.”

A statement from Nestlé said it was working on a “company-wide project" to update its nutrition and health strategy, according to a Reuter’s report.
