The big data and predictive analytics firm said it has appointed Kirk Perry president and chief executive, effective May 17. He will also join IRI’s board of directors

IRI’s new chief succeeds Andrew Appel, who has led a transformation of IRI for nearly a decade. Appel will remain an advisor to the company and member of the board, according to a press release.

Perry joins IRI from Google, where he had been president of global client and agency solutions since 2013. Prior to Google, he spent more than two decades at Procter & Gamble in several marketing positions. He currently sits on the boards of J.M. Smucker Co. and e.l.f. Cosmetics.
