7-Eleven® Stores 'Go for the Goal' In Global Coca-Cola Promotion

IRVING, Texas -- For the world's biggest sporting event, Coca-Cola invites 7-Eleven's soccer fans around the world to celebrate like never before. More than 61,000 7-Eleven stores in 14 countries are participating in the promotion that runs through Aug. 31, 2018. In the U.S., approximately 9,100 stores will participate, that means with predictions, points, pix and prizes. 

One lucky fan who participates in the Predict and Score sweepstakes is eligible to win $50,000, and hundreds are eligible to win thousands of 7Rewards® customer loyalty platform points, redeemable for select items by using the 7-Eleven app at participating 7-Eleven stores.* 

U.S. shoppers can purchase specially marked "Share a Coke" cans to receive unique codes to play the "Predict and Score!" game in the 7-Eleven app. Codes can be found under the tab of specially marked Coke cans available exclusively at participating 7-Eleven stores. When a bottle of Powerade is purchased and the 7-Eleven app is scanned at checkout, an email with a code to play will be sent to the customer's email address associated with their 7-Eleven account.* 

Each week through July 15, a bracket featuring upcoming games and teams will appear in the 7-Eleven app. To find the Predict and Score game in the app, participants can click "Deals" and follow links to enter a code and then choose their picks to win that week. Each time they play, a 7Rewards member will earn 10 points, plus 5 points for each correct prediction. Only one game code may be entered per week. 

Players who predict correctly can also move up the leaderboard after each week's winning soccer teams are determined. The four fastest Predict and Score players at the top of the leaderboard when the championship game concludes on July 15 will win prizes: First -- $2,000 Delta Vacations gift card; second -- $1,000 Best Buy gift card; third -- $600 Best Buy gift card, and fourth – a –year-long sports streaming package. The next five players in the ranking will receive 10,000 7Rewards points. 

Thousands of 7Rewards points will be awarded to the balance of the top 300 players. 

Finally, all Predict and Score game-winners, along with other eligible entries received, will be entered into the sweepstakes for a chance to win $50,000. While the Predict and Score game ends July 15, the sweepstakes will continue through Aug. 31. The winner will be drawn soon after the sweepstakes entry period ends. 

But fans don't have to win to have fun with the promotion centered on the global games. A bright red selfie bottle cap adaptor, available exclusively at participating 7-Eleven stores gives any 20-ounce Coca-Cola product that little extra length needed to capture the perfect selfie. 

"When 7-Eleven first teamed up with Coke for the 2014 tournament, we had, about 35,000 stores participating. This year, that number is almost double," said Jerome Del Porto, 7-Eleven vice president of international operations. "That's more stores than any other international retailer or restaurant. 7-Eleven wanted to play big to match the enthusiasm of its fans around the world. Thanks to the support of Coca-Cola, 7-Eleven was able to take the field with the biggest international promotion in company history." 

Coca-Cola and 7-Eleven began working together more than a year ago to produce an exclusive shopper experience for soccer fans around the world. Coca-Cola has sponsored the summer games since 1978. During the 2014 games, almost half of the world's population watched a game during the tournament, breaking records around the world, including the U.S.

Other countries participating are Mexico, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, Norway, Denmark, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as well as Hong Kong. Each country is putting its own spin on the international football/soccer tournament with exclusive products, prizes and promotions, available while supplies last.

Held in Russia this year, the quadrennial games run from Thursday, June 14, to Sunday, July 15, with 64 matches before the final game to determine the world champions. The previous games drew 3.2 billion viewers, equal to almost half of the world's population.
