Activists are fighting for a $15 minimum wage across the country, at Rutgers, in Detroit, Kansas City and San Diego. Protesters are rallying for civil and union rights to raise the minimum raise to $15 per hour as minimum wage earners struggle to survive on current minimum wages. Some companies, such as MetLife, plan to raise minimum wages due to the tax reform package passed by Congress. The state of Arizona is attempting to put a cap on minimum wages by asking voters to roll back a minimum wage initiative that was passed in 2016.
