Beginning next year, many Americans will be getting a raise. The minimum wage is set to increase in 21 states and at least 22 cities, four counties and one region, according to Money.CNN. The majority of those raises will occur on Jan. 1, except in Maryland, Oregon and Washington, D.C., which will go into effect in July.
In the November election, Arizona, Colorado, Maine and Washington approved state minimum wage increases.
