U.S. Consumer Confidence Climbs To Highest Level Since 2001

The Conference Board revealed that its index of consumer confidence rose to 113.7 this month, up from 109.4 in November, and the highest since August 2001, reports The Wall Street Journal.  Lynn Franco, director of economic indicators at the Conference Board noted that in 2017, consumers’ continued optimism depends on whether or not their expectations are realized.
