Consumers Are More Confident In Economy But Hold Back Spending

In a recent US Consumer Sentiment Survey from McKinsey, it appears that fewer Americans are living pay check to pay check, express concern about making ends meet or that they might lose their job. However, they remain conservative in their spending. If asked where and how much money they would spend if their salary increased, U.S. consumers lagged the rest of the world, reporting they would spend only 21 cents out of every dollar, and it would be on everyday items like food and coffee.
