When Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012, it destroyed many areas along the New York coast, including Staten Island-based Majestic Vending & Services, reports Forbes. Through the devastation, Majestic persevered and never closed its doors. Since 2012 the company has grown by 30 percent in size and revenue and was this year awarded recognition by the U.S. Small Business Administration with the 2016 Phoenix Award for “their determination to rebuild their business and help their community.”
