(CHICAGO) May 26, 2016 – NAMA’s Government Affairs team hosted a webinar on Calorie Disclosure compliance this week with nearly 300 callers, representing upwards of 450 total participants.
“We developed this webinar given the industry’s need for specific information on Calorie Disclosure,” said Eric Dell, NAMA’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. “It’s a significant issue for the industry that has been the focus of our work for the past five years.”
The webinar addressed the history of the rule, overall application and compliance, a deep dive into application for specific products and situations, rule enforcement and vending operator requirements. Additionally, the presentation covered NAMA’s ongoing advocacy efforts including the 2016 DC Fly-In and a new Calorie Disclosure resource.
“Compliance requires a strong understanding of the final Rule,” Dell said. “To ensure our members are as prepared as possible for the December 1 deadline, we have developed A Comprehensive Manual on Compliance, a reference tool featuring 40 frequently asked questions to assist operators in finding quick answers to their most pressing compliance questions. The purchase of this guide includes a copy of our webinar presentation and digital updates if the final rule is amended in any way.”
“The webinar was another example of NAMA’s tremendous value to the industry,” said Larry Atnip, Atnip Co., Inc. and Government Affairs Committee member. “The information contained in the webinar and the Compliance Guide is not attainable anywhere else in this level of detail. I urge everyone to take advantage of this publication that NAMA’s Government Affairs Division has created. It will help you comply with the law to protect your business.”
