Arizona County Board Questions Vending Contract Rules Related To Blind Vendors

July 22, 2015

The board of supervisors for Mohave County, AZ, have offered a short-term contract for blind vendors operating vending services in county buildings while they discuss the implications of a federal rule that restricts the type of vendors they may consider, according to the Daily Miner. Due to the Randolph-Sheppard Act of 1937, priority is given to operators with disabilities for machines and programs on federal property. The board voted to extend the current contract for 5 years and postpone their original request for proposal sent out to all area vendors.
