June 3, 2015

In a 23 to 15 vote, the California Senate approved a bill to lift the state’s minimum wage to $13 per hour in 2017, CBS News reports. The minimum wage will increase from its current $9 per hour rate to $10 per hour in 2016. It will be tied to the rate of inflation after its increase in 2017.

In May, Los Angeles, CA, approved a measure that would raise the city’s minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2020.
