Yale Professor Uses Vending Machine To Teach Engineering

Vending machines do more than just vend snacks. For Yale professor Jakub Szefer, vending machines are a learning tool for wannabe engineers, according to Yale Daily News. Szefer, who is teaching “Introduction to Computer Engineering,” will be requiring students to program the vending machine with logic design and basic computer principles in order to dispense a soda, the source reports.  The goal of using a vending machine is to help students apply engineering programming in everyday life.
