Indiana State Senator Dennis Kruse, R-Auburn, has introduced Senate Bill No. 60 which seeks to require companies to label foods produced by genetic engineering, according to IndyStar. The proposed bill states that… “Beginning July 1, 2016, any food that is offered for retail sale is misbranded if it is not disclosed that the food is or may have been entirely or partially produced with genetic engineering.”
Additionally, a food cannot state or imply that it is “natural” if it is genetically engineered or processed. View legislation.
