Massachusetts Start-Up Invoices Locations For Vending Fresh Food

Oct. 6, 2014

A foodservice start-up company, LeanBox, is selling fresh food at workplaces. The proffered menu has a short shelf-life, unique dishes and is targeted to the tastes of the end-users. It is also subsidized by the location.

Launched in 2013, LeanBox asks employers to subsidize some or all of the cost of the products offered to employees, making the prices at the point of sale less than similar products at the grocery store. The propriety locked cooler delivery system accepts cashless payment and can meet the needs of workplaces from 30 to 1,500 people, according to the company. The machines are monitored remotely from the headquarters in Boston, MA, and deliveries are made as needed. Full story.
