Multiline foodservice equipment manufacturer Ali Group announced that it has closed on its agreement to acquire Kold Draft International from the Legacy Cos. of Lauderdale, FL. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Found in 1955, Kold Draft manufactures ice machines that make “true” square cubes using an upside-down, horizontal evaporator ice-making system. Kold Draft machines are known to produce solid, sparkling ice that cools faster, melts slower and doesn’t distort the taste of beverages.
Ali Group’s chairman and chief executive said, “The acquisition is strategically important to our group as it strengthens our position as a leader in the global commercial foodservice industry.”
Founded in 1963 by Luciano Berti, the Ali Group is an Italian corporation with headquarters located in Milan and North American operations based in Chicago. Through its subsidiaries, the company designs, manufactures, markets and services a broad line of commercial and institutional foodservice equipment.
