FDA Supports Use Of 'Best If Used By' Term On Packaged Food Labels

The FDA informed regulated food industries in a letter May 23 that the agency supports the use of the term "Best if Used By" for food labeling and ongoing consumer education efforts to educate consumers on the meaning of quality-based date labels in an effort to avoid food waste.
