A new study has found that heart-attack patients who drink one or two cups of coffee per day are 20 percent less likely to die prematurely from heart damage, according to Fox News. The study, conducted at York University, tracked nearly 4,000 heart-attack survivors and chronicled their coffee-consumption habits.
A previous study found that those who drank between three and five cups of coffee a day are likely to have less coronary artery calcium (CAC). High levels of CAC are an early sign of coronary heart disease. Coffee consumption has also been linked to lower risk for liver cancer in other studies.
