July 19, 2016

Cold brew coffee is a food trend that seemingly grew overnight and has no signs of slowing down, reports The Motley Fool. The beverage now can be found in coffee houses such as Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts and many retailers as well, but just a few years ago very few consumers knew what cold brew was.

Cold brew coffee’s popularity is partly due to the fact that it’s both new and a little different, according to the source. Specialty foods and beverages are also on the rise, driving cold brew coffee consumption.

Editor’s note: Cold brew coffee has made its way into the OCS industry as well, with many operators offering cold brew in kegs, cartons and bottles to those locations who are looking for a unique coffee experience.
