Demand for cold coffee is higher than ever before. Coffee and beverage makers such as JAB, Illy, High Brew, Starbucks and Dr Pepper, to name a few, are introducing high-end ready-made canned and bottled chilled coffee, reports Bloomberg. And cold coffee sales aren’t just booming in the summer, they are hot in the winter, too. In fact, Starbucks reported a 20 percent increase in iced drink sales nationwide, Bloomberg reports, following its introduction of a new cold brew coffee in its retail stores.
Euromonitor International is predicting the U.S. ready-to-drink coffee market to reach nearly $3.6 billion by 2020.
