Tea is a growth target for Hain Celestial. Food Business News reports that the company has introduced new tea options including new ready-to-drink teas, enhanced packaging and is reportedly looking for acquisitions.
In order to appeal to the younger consumer and improve tea consumption, the company has overhauled its Celestial Seasonings brands and launched an updated packaging look at the Natural Products Expo that occurred in March. In a conference call on May 6, Hain Celestial President and CEO Irwin Simon said, “Herbal tea is where the growth is and wellness tea, not black teas,” the source reports. He also referred to the tea K-Cup category as “dismal.”
