Leaf Rust Outbreak Cuts Coffee Production 9.7 Percent

An Icafe (Costa Rica’s national coffee institute) spokesman reported that the coffee leaf rust outbreak that affected Central America earlier this year will cut 2013/2014 coffee production by 9.7 percent, according to the Public Ledger. Coffee production will fall 1.2 million bags, bringing production to approximately 11.2 million 60 kg bags. Full article.
