Jamaican Coffee Production Down

The Jamaican Agricultural Society reports a 35 percent loss of production due to Hurricane Sandy and the outbreak of coffee leaf rust disease, according to the Gleaner news. Norman Grant, president the Jamaican Agricultural Society, predicts the disease could result in additional loss for future crops. The disease has reduced output by an estimated 10,000 boxes, with further declines expected. Full article.
