Brewing coffee through tea bags is a concept that's only a few years old, but it's gaining some traction with the on-the-go crowd that don't have much time for pour over, drip or French press.
Newcomer Wildland Coffee recently began offering its “Coffee in a Tea Bag" online. The brand's coffee is ground, placed in a tea bag and then nitro-flush, which keeps it fresh for 12 months.
According to the company’s FAQ page, most of Wildland’s customers say its product tastes just like coffee made by French press or drip methods. Those coffee-brewing methods take ground coffee and run them through hot water, which is what a tea bag does.
Coffee bag preparation is simple: start with 8 oz. of "almost"-boiling water, place coffee bag in water and allow it to steep from five to seven minutes – the longer the stronger.
Wildland's 5-ct. box costs $7.50 (not including shipping).
